Check Input Types

Check Input Types

DeltaNova Check accepts three input types for the conversion checking process.

DITA Map

The DITA Map input type allows passing in a complete DITA document composed of multiple map files and DITA topic files.

Requirements:

  • Provide all DITA files (map + referenced topics) within a single ZIP file.

  • Specify the path within the ZIP to the root map file, e.g. input.ditamap.

Java class: DITAMapInput

Custom DITA Catalogs

If your DITA files use a customised catalog, you must create a plugin.xml file:

XML
<plugin id="com.example.catalog">
  <feature extension="dita.specialization.catalog.relative"
           file="catalog-dita.xml"/>
</plugin>

Zip the plugin with your catalog files and install it into the bundled DITA-OT:

Bash
dita-ot-3.7.4-patched-1/bin/dita install /path/to/your/plugin.zip

For an alternative DITA-OT location, see Configuration Properties.

DOCX

The DOCX input type enables checking a Microsoft Word format document.

Requirements:

  • Must be Office Open XML format (.docx extension).

  • The content is extracted from word/document.xml inside the .docx archive.

Java class: DocxInput

Not supported: The legacy .doc binary format (Microsoft Word prior to 2007).

XML

The XML input type accepts any single-file, non-specific XML document as input.

Requirements:

  • No pre-processing is applied.

  • The document must be standalone — all content in one file.

Java class: XMLInput
